There are many forms of online marketing, all of which serve one purpose. Putting your brand or product in front of more and more people on the internet, whether that be on a search engine, on social media, in the news or even while using an app or playing a game.
We specialise in two of these areas, Search Engine Optimisation and Pay Per Click Advertising.
Search Engine Optimisation: SEO
In simple terms search engine optimisation aka SEO is the improvement of your online presence. Making sure that the content you put online is relevant to your service and what potential customers are searching for.
When it comes to the two big search engines, Google & Bing, they are looking for relevance. The most relevant content when you perform a search will show up first, simple really. However, for them to notice and potentially index your content there are a lot of rules to follow and lots of ground work to put in.
From basic items like ensuring your company details are correct on all of the online directories to making sure your visitors are protected by using an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).
We perform technical SEO audits for customers which highlight a lot of the basics that haven’t been done correctly, we then prioritise the tasks and create a time line to roll them out.
On-page SEO looks deeper into your content and the keywords used to make sure you can be found when someone used that particular phrase in an online search.
We also look at how well your website responds to different devices like smart phones, tablets and even flat screen tv’s, If you want your site to appear in search, you need to make sure it works for any platform a customer may use to perform that search.
There is a lot more to SEO than just adding keywords to your website. We can take you through this step-by-step.
Pay Per Click Advertising: PPC
Pay Per Click or PPC as it is referred to is a more straight forward way of ensuring your website is put in front of those people potentially looking for the services you offer.
This can be done in a few different ways:
Paid Search Results
This works like an auction, you bid on the key phrases that you would like your advert to appear for. If your bid is high enough and your advert / landing page is of high enough quality then your advert could appear in the top 3 positions or down the right hand side of the search engines. Google and Bing work in very similar ways but do require a separate account.
Remarketing targets people who have already visited your website using cookies. This enables you to place strategic adverts or content in front of them when they use certain platforms, like Gmail, Facebook, Messenger or Instagram.
You can place adverts on pretty much any social media platform these days, this is how they make their money and why most platforms are free. There are various different ways in which you can target potential customers and the more specific you are, the better the results.
Let’s say you are wanting to advertise ‘mobile phone repairs’ you can do this by selecting your audience of people on facebook who like pages by Apple, Samsung and Nokia. You can then specify in what country, county, city or borough these people should be in (within a certain radius) lets say 5 miles.
Your audience then consists of Smart Phone and tech fans within 5 miles of your business locations.
If your business has a niche repairing to Doro mobile phones (very specific I know) then you can limit your audience to those over the age of 60, being that Doro market themselves as the phone for the elderly.
When it comes to advertising online, you can pretty much put your business in front of anyone, however unlike SEO anytime someone clicks on your advert it costs you money. This is where you need to look at your potential return on investment and decide on your budget.
