I dont normally write posts like this but I just though that people should be aware of what has happened to me recently.
Last year a number of friends and I decided to join the new gym that had opened in Kirkstall, Xercise4Less. We joined before it actually opened so were given a brilliant introductory offer. I had a pretty good year at Xercise4Less and managed to lose a lot of weight but when I ‘decided’ to leave is when the bad service started to happen.
I turned up one day in march 2013 and I couldn’t get into the gym, I was told my contract had expired and that I would need to renew at a higher rate if I wanted to continue using the gym.
I decided against it. now 10 months later I am getting threatening letters from HARLANDS who manage the finances for Xercise4Less. apparently my direct debit has failed for the last 2 months.
I contacted them telling them I no longer went to Xercise4Less because my contract had ended and also questioned why they had been taking the money out of my account since March.
I then contact the ‘lovely’ people at the Xercise4Less Leeds office and was informed that I must be mistaken and they will not be refunding the money owed to me. And although they are not in the wrong, they will ensure the ‘DEBT’ is written off and that there is no more contact from HARLANDS.
Apparently to cancel my contract I need to send them a letter, I didn’t want to cancel my contract, I was informed by them that it had ended yet they still refuse to pay the money they have wrongfully taken from my account since THEY ended my gym membership.
Xercise4Less is not bad for the money, but don’t you dare leave and join a more well equipped gym as they will try and rip you off.
I guess its my fault for not checking my bank statements sooner but some of the worst customer service I have experienced.
I have now told them to “Keep my £60, I don’t need it. but trust me, it will cost you more in the long run!!” As an experienced individual in SEO I will be certainly letting people know what they are getting into when joining this place.
20/11/2013: Xercise4Less have contacted me through one of the many review sites where I left this very same review, so we will see what happens from now on. I am not very hopeful
