The first time I went to Diva Italiana I felt a little bit silly, for years and years I thought I had been to some nice Italian restaurants. But no, on this night I learned that I didn’t know what a true Italian restaurant was, until now.
It was introduced to me by a friend, like all good restaurants should be.
When you first walk in you are greeted by the wonderful staff, usually the owner Mattia, Shown to a seat in the bar for a drink or two before your meal. I usually go for one of their speciality Artisan beers before choosing a wine to go with the meal.
I have visited this place with groups of friends, my partner on valentines day and with family for Sunday lunch, every single time the service is second to none and the food is amazing. My 18 month old son Charlie was going through a phase of not eating what was put in front of him, he was presented with lunch at Diva one Sunday afternoon and didn’t stop for a breath until the whole plate was clean, and then all we got out of him was “more?”…
I love the atmosphere in the place, there have been times that I have walked in and there would be a large group of people sitting around a table laughing and enjoying themselves and then i’d notice the owner sat with them enjoying a Prosecco like they were family.
The menus have something for everyone, but if your are a seafood lover like me then I can wholly recommend the sea food platter to start, its fantastico. If for some reason there isn’t something on there that takes your fancy, one word with the staff and they will prepare something especially for you.
In my line of work, word out mouth is the best way to get business, so this is my recommendation of Diva italiana to you, simply The Best Italian Restaurant In leeds.
